The Challenge
Introduce students to food product design and the sustainable snack business.
Approach
Students learned to develop, package, and market a seasonal cookie made with all-natural ingredients. The apprenticeship included lessons in recipe development, safe food production, branding, and distribution.
Outcome
- Created a holiday themed cookie line from scratch.
- Learned about nutrition, how to develop sustainable packaging, and marketing for cohesive branding.
- Taught students business skills by pre-selling cookie boxes within their school and community, promoting self sufficiency and real world entrepreneurial experience.
